“Giving birth is one of those things that seems to take forever and also seems to go by in a flash. Looking back through my pictures from my daughter’s birth helps me to re-experience the key happy moments–especially that moment they handed her to me. This birth was my last, so I am particularly grateful that Charlene was there to capture it all. It’s funny to me that I remember chatting with her and being happy for the distraction between contractions, but when it came down to the actual picture taking she was basically a ninja. My mom thought having a photographer in the room would feel a bit intrusive, but I honestly forgot she was there until she walked around the bed to take pictures of daddy inspecting my daughter’s little features in the hospital bassinet.
